Friends’ Jubilee
The exhibition in De Hallen Haarlem showed contemporary works of art that have been acquired with the Friends’ generous support. On view was for example American artist Nan Goldin’s slide show Heartbeat (2001), that consists of 245 portraits of four different couples fondling and making love. The images are accompanied by English composer John Tavener’s Kyrie Eleison, performed by Icelandic singer Björk: an intense ode to love.
