Use your imagination to finish the drawing.
With this colouring page you bring the museum into your home.
This militia piece is also called ‘The Meagre Company’ and normally hangs in the Rijks Museum in Amsterdam. We temporarily have it on loan, so all of Frans Hals’ Civic Guard Pieces can be seen together. Frans Hals started the painting in 1633, but as he hadn’t finished it three years later, Pieter Codde completed it. How would you finish this painting?
You probably won’t take as long on the colouring page as Frans and Pieter did, … Colour it in the best you can, using your own imagination to finish the drawing.
When you have finished, write a nice message on the back and send it to someone who could use a cheerful drawing. Or take a picture of it and share it with us via @franshalsmuseum on Facebook or Instagram with #FHMkleurplaat. (Don’t forget to include your name). We share the most creative entries in our ‘online museum’ on the socials.
