Now on show!
The Frans Hals Museum is Haarlem’s art museum. Here you will find the largest collection of paintings by Frans Hals in the world alongside works by other famous Haarlem artists such as Judith Leyster, Cornelis van Haarlem and Jacob van Ruisdael. But you will also discover a rich collection of art from 1880 to the present, including works by Isaac Israels, Charley Toorop, and Dana Lixenberg.
Come to the Frans Hals Museum and imagine yourself back in time in the place where Frans Hals himself must have walked around. Even during the Frans Hals exhibition at the Rijksmuseum, 17 paintings by Frans Hals are still on display at the museum, including 3 of his lively and colourful militia paintings. Did you know that he also gave himself a place on 1 of these militia paintings? To see the painter behind the works, a trip to Haarlem is not to be missed!
