17th Century Still Life Paintings
Inspired by Dutch and Italian still lifes, Spanish flower still life painters reached a high level and were able to introduce their own original elements, which gave the Spanish flower still life a unique quality. This is not generally known in the Netherlands.
In collaboration with the Sociedad Estatal para Exposiciones internacionales and the Prado Museum in Madrid, an exhibition was organized on the 17th-century flower still life in Spanish painting, which consisted of forty works by important Spanish flower still-life painters, such as Juan de Hamen (1596-1631) , Ponce, de Camprobin, Hiepes, de Arellano, Pérez and de la Corte.
