Both locations of the Frans Hals Museum are open during the Christmas market.
This weekend, the center of Haarlem will be transformed into one of the largest and nicest Christmas markets in the country. The Christmas market is generally very well attended, so it will be busier in the city center than usual. Especially around the Grote Markt, where Frans Hals Museum Hal is located.
The stalls are set up from the station towards the Grote Markt and in the streets around the Grote Markt. If you come by train to Haarlem, then the Christmas market is also on a large part of your walking route to both locations of our museum.

The map on the side is marked with the streets with stalls for the Christmas. It starts at the top at the NS train station in Haarlem. At the bottom of the map, in the middle, Frans Hals Museum Hof is marked with a black dot. Frans Hals Museum Hal is located on Grote Markt at number 1 on the map.
Do you want to avoid the crowds? Then take walk accoss the Jansweg and the Jansstraat from NS trainstation in the direction of the Grote Markt. From the Grote Markt, the Grote Houtstraat may be an alternative. At the end of the Grote Houtstraat you turn left to the Gasthuisvest and then take the second left to the Groot Heiligland.
