American Friends of the Frans Hals Museum

The American Friends of the Frans Hals Museum is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation, founded in 2017 to strengthen ties between the museum and the American public. Its aim is to support the museum in realising and increasing its public and artistic ambitions in the broadest sense possible.

The American Friends of the Frans Hals Museum has been established in cooperation with the Netherland-America Foundation (NAF). Founded in 1921, the NAF facilitates and improves the bonds between the Netherlands and the United States through exchange in education, the arts, sciences, public affairs and business. The NAF operates under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet and professor Pieter van Vollenhoven.

The NAF is a New York non-profit corporation recognised under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the ‘Code’), and classified as a public charity under Sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Code.
