Dutch Masters from Luxembourg
The Villa Vauban, the Municipal Art Museum of the city Luxembourg was temporarily closed due to renovations. Therefore, The Frans Hals Museum could make a selection from the Villa Vauban Collection. The paintings from Luxembourg, came from the estate of Jean-Pierre Pescatore (1793-1855). This collection contains works of famous artists from the Golden Age, like Jan Steen, Philips Wouwerman, but also impressive romantic paintings of B. C. Koekkoek and Andreas Schelfhout.
