Fifteen years ago, the Association of Friends of the Frans Hals Museum was established. An important objective was the financial support of purchases and restorations. A large diversity of artefacts was acquired thanks to the support of the Association of Friends: paintings, drawings, clocks, silver and embroidered bed curtains. The restoration of the doll’s house and the standing watch by Johannes Coelombie were also co-financed. Practical matters were also supported, such as the purchase of a sound installation and a cutting machine, the layout of the Friends Shop and the design of information furniture.
