Anna Bella Geiger is one of the most important contemporary Brazilian artists. Anna Bella Geiger has continuously provided new impulses to the development of contemporary art in Brazil. She created abstract work early on and was a pioneer in video art. Even under the difficult circumstances during the dictatorship in her country, she continued to make art. She remains an active artist to this day, creating etchings, engravings, sculptures and collages. Her extensive and versatile oeuvre spans over sixty years. Her work features in the collections of leading museums such as the Centre Pompidou (Paris) and the Museum of Modern Art (New York).
