Defect in Vision shows an older Japanese couple sitting at their dining table in a typical Japanese, minimalist interior. They are eating a meal and having a conversation about the possible end of World War II. In a succession of scenes, the performance, with its short dialogue, is continually re-enacted. The camera zooms in closer and closer on the couple at the dining table and in each new scene, more dishes disappear from the table. The couple search in vain with their chopsticks for the food that was there in earlier scenes, making it apparent to the viewer that the actors are, in fact, blind. The video builds towards a dramatic climax, in which the love of a kamikaze pilot is all that matters to his wife.
